Elite Reader Terms and Conditions
Last updated: September 23, 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") describe the use of Elite Reader, including its iPhone and iPad app, Share Extension, widgets, and optional Elite Reader Pro purchase (together, the "App"). The App is provided by VinWare LLC ("VinWare," "we," "us," or "our").
Questions, support requests, and complaints: help@vinwareapps.com.
1. These Terms and Apple's license
By using the App after these Terms have been made available to you, you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using the App. This does not affect any refund or other remedy available to you by law.
The App is licensed under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Standard EULA"). These Terms supplement that agreement with information and conditions specific to Elite Reader; they do not replace it with a custom EULA. If a provision conflicts with the Standard EULA on a matter governed by that license, the Standard EULA controls, subject to mandatory law.
Nothing in these Terms removes consumer, privacy, accessibility, or other rights that cannot lawfully be limited. The Elite Reader Privacy Policy explains the App's information practices. Accepting these Terms is not blanket consent to optional data processing.
2. Who may use the App
You must be legally able to agree to these Terms, or have the involvement and authorization of a parent or legal guardian where required. You must also comply with the App Store age rating and any applicable account or device restrictions. Parents and guardians are responsible for deciding whether the App and any external content accessed through it are appropriate for their children.
An Elite Reader account is not required. An eligible Apple Account and permission to make purchases are required for an App Store purchase.
3. What Elite Reader provides
Elite Reader helps you import and organize reading material, use different reading presentations, adjust reading pace, track local reading activity, save annotations, and use available companion features. It supports selected document formats, pasted text, web imports, and text recognition from scanned or selected images. Features vary with your device, operating system, language, permissions, and the content you provide.
The App is a reading and organizational tool. It does not guarantee an increase in reading speed, comprehension, memory, academic performance, or productivity. Words-per-minute, words-read, streak, and time-saved figures are estimates based on App activity and settings; they do not measure whether you understood or retained the material.
Choose a pace and presentation that work for the material. Pause or stop if reading causes discomfort, and do not use the App when an activity requires your full attention.
4. Free access and Elite Reader Pro
Free library
The free version supports five saved readings at a time, including saved samples, and includes all five reading modes. You can delete readings to make room. Reading within the Share Extension remains available without buying Pro.
One-time Pro purchase
Elite Reader Pro removes the limit on the number of saved readings through a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It is not a subscription and does not renew or create recurring charges.
"Unlimited readings" means there is no Pro library-count limit. Available device storage, supported formats, per-import limits, and other technical constraints still apply. Pro does not include a catalog of paid books, rights to third-party content, cloud storage, or a guarantee that Apple Intelligence features will be available on your device.
Apple displays the applicable local price and purchase details before you confirm. Prices for future purchases may change; a price change does not create a new charge for an existing purchase. Pro is activated after the App receives a verified purchase entitlement from Apple. Pending approvals and unavailable App Store services can delay activation.
The purchased library-count unlock has no scheduled expiry. We will not convert that existing unlock into a recurring subscription or remove it solely because pricing or packaging later changes. The purchase does not promise perpetual support for every future device or operating system, every future product or separately offered service, or continued operation of services outside our control. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
Restore Purchases
Use Settings > Explore Pro & restore purchases to restore eligible Pro access using the Apple Account associated with the purchase. Restoration may require an internet connection and account authentication. Availability through Family Sharing depends on the product's App Store configuration and Apple's rules; these Terms do not promise that sharing is enabled.
Restoring Pro restores the purchase, not your saved library, annotations, or reading history. Those are stored locally and depend on your device and backup arrangements.
Refunds, revoked purchases, and waiting readings
Apple administers App Store billing and refund requests. You can request a refund through Apple's purchase-support process. Eligibility depends on Apple's applicable terms and your legal rights. Nothing here makes purchases categorically nonrefundable or limits a remedy required by law.
If Apple refunds or revokes Pro, the App may remove Pro access. Existing readings remain available; the free capacity limit applies to adding further readings. A shared import that cannot fit may remain in Waiting readings until space is available, Pro is active, or you discard it. A waiting import is not confirmation that it has joined the main library.
5. Your reading material and content rights
You retain the rights you already have in material you create or import. Third-party authors, publishers, and other rights holders retain their rights. Saving a document or finding an image online does not give you ownership or permission to copy, adapt, distribute, or commercially exploit it.
Only import, scan, store, or use material when you own the necessary rights, have permission, or are otherwise allowed to do so by law. This includes book text, subscription articles, photographs, cover artwork, confidential material, and information about other people. A publicly accessible page or Google Images result is not, by itself, a license.
The App processes the content you choose only as needed to perform the features you request, including extraction, display, local storage, annotation, and available generation. These Terms do not grant VinWare a right to publish your private library, sell its contents, or use it for advertising or AI-model training.
Elite Reader does not remove digital-rights management, unlock protected books, bypass paywalls, or provide access to a retailer's private book library. Keep and use original, unprotected files that you are entitled to import. You must also follow applicable terms of the sources and services you access.
6. Imports, scans, and generated material
Imports and optical character recognition can omit text, change formatting, misread characters, or select the wrong reading order. Automated cleanup can flag useful material as unnecessary. Review the result before saving or relying on it, and keep access to the original where accuracy matters.
Optional companion features can select source passages, interpret a typed or spoken request, or generate notes. Generated material can be incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, or unrelated to what you intended. A source reference or passage match does not guarantee that a generated statement correctly represents the source. Speech recognition can also misinterpret a request.
Review the selected passage, transcript, and generated text before saving, sharing, or relying on them. These features do not provide professional medical, legal, financial, or safety advice and should not replace original sources or appropriate professional judgment. You are responsible for how you use or distribute generated material, including respecting rights in the underlying source.
On-device AI features require compatible hardware and software and an available Apple Intelligence model. Their availability is not guaranteed by purchasing Pro. Manual reading and annotation tools remain subject to their own device and format requirements.
7. Local storage and backups
Your main library is stored on your device. VinWare does not provide a cloud library or an account-based synchronization or recovery service. Keep independent copies of important source documents and manage your device backups.
The App uses local safety copies and import-recovery files to reduce accidental loss. They do not guarantee recovery, act as an archival service, or ensure that every copy disappears when you delete a reading. The Privacy Policy explains retention, pending imports, and the difference between deleting and offloading the App.
Device loss, App deletion, insufficient storage, software problems, or changes to backup settings can affect your data. If the App reports that changes are unsaved, address that problem before removing the App or assuming a change has been stored. These practical limitations do not exclude any responsibility or remedy that applies by law.
8. External services and connectivity
Some features contact third parties, including source websites, image hosts, Google, Apple, and file-storage providers. External services can require an account, connection, payment, or separate agreement and can change or become unavailable. Your network provider's normal charges may apply.
Search Google Images sends the selected reading's title to Google. Websites opened in the in-app browser can use cookies, collect browser information, show advertising, and display material outside Elite Reader's control. Use a local image or default cover if you do not want to disclose the title. See the Privacy Policy for details.
A link, import function, or search result is not an endorsement of the service or its content. We do not guarantee the accuracy, availability, legality, or suitability of independent third-party material. We remain responsible for our own obligations under applicable law.
9. Appropriate use and App ownership
You may use the App within the rights granted by the Standard EULA and applicable law. You must not use it to infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, unlawfully obtain material, bypass purchase verification or access restrictions, interfere with others' systems, or introduce malicious code.
VinWare and its licensors retain rights in the App's software, design, branding, and included assets. Your rights in your own reading material are separate from those App rights. Any applicable open-source notices and licenses continue to govern their respective components. Nothing here restricts rights that applicable law or an open-source license expressly permits.
10. Support, updates, and availability
Contact help@vinwareapps.com for App support. VinWare is responsible for support it offers and any maintenance, remedies, or other obligations required by law. Apple's responsibilities for the App Store and your Apple Account are governed by its own terms.
We may update the App to fix problems, improve features, or address changes in technology or law. We may change supported devices and optional features when reasonably necessary, subject to the purchased rights described above and applicable consumer protections. We do not promise a particular release schedule or that every external service or optional feature will always be available.
11. Warranties, responsibility, and consumer rights
The Standard EULA governs the App license's warranty and liability provisions. The limitations described in these Terms explain the App's intended operation; they do not create an additional waiver of your rights.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence where protected by law, or breach of a non-excludable consumer guarantee. Statutory rights relating to digital content, conformity, repairs, replacement, refunds, and other remedies continue to apply where available.
12. Ending use and resolving a problem
You can stop using and delete the App at any time. Deletion does not automatically request a purchase refund, cancel your Apple Account, or remove information held independently by Apple or other services. The Standard EULA governs termination of the App license. Ending use does not remove rights or obligations that by their nature continue, including applicable payment, ownership, privacy, and consumer-protection obligations.
If a problem arises, contact help@vinwareapps.com so we can try to resolve it. This is an available support route, not a required step before exercising a legal remedy. These Terms add no mandatory arbitration requirement, class-action waiver, or shortened deadline for bringing a claim.
Applicable law and the Standard EULA govern disputes to the extent relevant. Nothing in these Terms requires you to give up mandatory protections or access to courts available under the laws of your place of residence.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in the App, our obligations, or the law, and will update the date above. Material changes will receive any notice or agreement required by law. Changes do not operate retroactively to remove accrued rights or redefine the Pro unlock you already purchased. Where additional agreement is legally required, simply posting a revised page is not a substitute for obtaining it.
If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
