Choose your limit

Start with 280, 300, 500, or 4000 characters, or enter your own. Live counts help you see where each post stands.

Put breaks where they belong

Automatic splitting looks for natural sentence and paragraph boundaries. Tap a word to add a break, move it a word at a time, or merge posts. Undo lets you step back.

Make the thread yours

Add numbering and a custom ending. Leave the final ending off for a clean finish, or use Pack tight to fit more text into each post.

Copy, share, keep your place

Copy a post and see which ones you have already copied. Share through the system share sheet, or copy the whole thread with your choice of separators.

All splitting happens locally. There is no account, advertising, or analytics SDK, and Tear Line does not upload your writing. Choose light or dark mode and one of six accent colors; your preferences are remembered.

Copy what you want to keep.

Drafts last for the current session and are not saved as documents. Copy or share your writing before closing the app. Destination services may count emoji, links, or other text differently, so check their counter before publishing.
