VinWareTear Line Support
Tear Line turns long writing into shorter posts on iPhone and iPad running iOS 18 or later.
Start a thread
- Paste or type your writing into the source editor.
- Choose a character limit: 280, 300, 500, 4000, or your own.
- Review the resulting posts and their character counts.
- Tap a word to start a new post there. Use controls between posts to move a break by a word or merge neighboring posts.
- Copy individual posts, share a post, or use Copy all for the whole thread.
Common questions
Why does a destination show a different count?
Tear Line counts Unicode scalars. Other services can apply different rules for emoji, links, and other text. Always check the destination’s counter before publishing. A manually merged post or a long custom ending can exceed your chosen limit; review any warning and adjust the post.
Where did my draft go?
Drafts are kept for the current session, not as saved documents. The operating system can end an app session in the background. Copy or share text you want to keep. Appearance and splitting preferences are saved separately.
How do I change numbering or endings?
Use the splitting controls or Settings. Custom endings, numbering, and the option to skip the last ending affect the text copied or shared.
What does Pack tight do?
It recalculates automatic breaks to fit more text into each post. Use Undo to step back through break edits.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. Text splitting and break editing run on your device. A destination selected in the share sheet, or an external web page, may require its own connection.
What is remembered?
Your appearance, accent, splitting choices, copy separators, and other settings. Restore defaults resets these preferences. It does not erase text you already copied or shared elsewhere.

For a useful bug report, include the app version and build from Settings, your device model, OS version, steps taken, and the expected result. Use a short sample with private information removed instead of sending your original draft.
